Becoming the Father You Really Want to Be
According to the latest research, men are becoming more involved as fathers on a consistent basis. So how are they doing? Since many of today’s involved fathers had more absent fathers, where will they get their “pictures” of fatherhood? By exploring Perceptual Control Theory as a model of human behavior, this presentation will introduce men to ideas on fathering their sons and daughters. By recognizing their children’s basic needs, fathers can begin to create the conditions for a need-satisfying relationship and to facilitate a process to help their children become more self-motivated and independent.
The workshop will be interactive with lectures, discussions, role playing and viewing of video tapes.

Becoming the Parent You Really Want to Be

Participants will be able to identify the difference between discipline and punishment as well as be introduced to the Ten Steps to Quality Parenting.

The workshop will be interactive with lectures, discussions, role playing and viewing of video tapes.

Coaching for Character - Coaching for Champions
"Young people need models not critics” John Wooden UCLA Basketball Coach

The information presented will tap into Perceptual Control Theory and its relation to brain research and what we know about the development of young athletes. Questions such as the following will be addressed:

Can student athletes learn to be champions without winning every game?
Can your program be deemed successful without dominating your conference?
How can you help your student athletes become internally motivated to do their best?
What is your job as a coach?
What values should we be introducing to our student athletes?
Can we coach without coercion?

The workshop will be interactive with lectures, discussions, role playing, and viewing of video tapes.

Creating the Conditions for Organizational Change
Change not only takes courage but it takes wisdom. Based on the innovative book “Creating the Conditions” by Diane Gossen and Judy Anderson, this presentation provides practical ways to change a school or organization, that is offers some wisdom. You have to provide the courage. This seminar looks at a quality leader, one who “creates the conditions” for cooperation, creativity, quality work, and self-evaluation. The objectives will be to answer the following:

How do we begin?
What is the process?
What strategies are useful?
What well we look like?
What kind of school/organization do we want to be?

The workshop will be interactive with lectures, discussions, role playing and viewing of video tapes.

Resolving Conflict - Understanding Win/Win
Based on Shelley Brierley’s international work with “The Circle of Strength” we this seminar will challenge participants to get off the “Triangle of Blame” (Persecuting-Victiming-Rescuing) and get on “The Circle of Strength” (Initiating- Cooperating-Facilitating). The model will be applied to personal, relational, and organizational examples.

The following will be addressed:

The participants will identify the ABC’s of communication.
The participants will learn communication as a means of self-evaluation.

The New Millennium Manager
Who is the New Millennium Manager? According to E. Perry Good, author of It’s Finally OK to Be the Boss, she is someone who knows that being in charge is more than giving orders. Good states that today’s manager has many roles to play including supervision, coaching, leading and being the boss. He further must do this while maintaining good working relationships with his employees.

This presentation will challenge business men and women to self-evaluate regarding their effectiveness in performing such diversified roles. Through the introduction of Perceptual Control Theory and how it relates to the works of W. Edwards Deming, Stephen Covey, Peter Senge, M.J. Wheatley and Phillip McGraw, participants will begin a process of recognizing what it will take to become an effective manager for the new millennium.
